Google Pay
Google Pay is a supported digital wallet option within the Praxis Cashier, enabling secure, tokenized card payments and reducing the PCI DSS compliance burden for merchants.
1. Overview
Google Pay™ is a digital wallet and online payment system developed by Google, designed to simplify and secure transactions for consumers across various platforms. It allows users to make fast and convenient payments using payment methods (like credit cards, debit cards) saved to their Google Account.
Key features include:
- Versatile Payments - Pay online, in apps, or tap-to-pay in stores using NFC.
- Enhanced Security - It replaces actual card numbers with unique, tokenized virtual numbers, protecting sensitive data during transactions. Each payment is also secured with device authentication (PIN, fingerprint, etc.).
- Speed & Convenience - Streamlines checkout, eliminating manual entry of payment details and speeding up the payment process.
- Fraud Protection - Leverages Google's security infrastructure to help prevent fraud.
Google Pay aims to provide a fast, convenient, and highly secure way for consumers to manage and use their payment information.
